An epic trail hared by Rambo. Two hours and 10k+ slog across fields, along muddy paths, and including not one, but two, river crossings. A masterpiece in the art of trail setting.
I think Rambo was forgiven for the length of the run thanks to the scenic off-road terrain, and his efforts in opening up a neglected part of West London to the delights of the hash.
Run 1700, yeah!!
Hare was Castrato. A nice off-road trail around Hampstead Heath, even if the hare himself forgot the correct route on at least one occasion. Still very muddy from the recent rains, but amazingly, and to the disbelief of the RA, no one fell over. So Pope got a down-down anyway, and quite right too.
A reasonably large turnout today, no doubt in part due to the first decent Thursday night weather for quite a while. And also the prospect of a glorious run around Bushy Park, expertly hared by your scribe (New Balls Please).
Amazingly, the drink stop supplies were still in their secret cache by the time the front runners got to the DS site. Less fortunately, they were discovered by some enterprising hasher and by the time the hare arrived most of the drink had been snarfed. Oh well.
Usual down-downs followed back a the pub. Can’t remember much else.

I missed the run on Thursday but thought I would do the trail anyway the following day. Tricky to follow even in broad daylight so I have no idea how you all got round in the dark.

Our joint hares for the evening were Sir Humpalot and Minge & Tonic.
An interesting, if somewhat long (10km) trail around Twickenham, taking in several parks and, apparently, some house worth stopping to view (no idea what it was though).

A master class in the use of the false trail, to the extent that even his false trails had false trails!
A refreshing sangria drink stop provided by assistant hare Man Magnet, followed by plenty of hash food (and some rather indifferent beer, it has to be said) back at the Grosvenor.
I think the AGPU bit happened at some stage, but I can’t be 100% sure. No doubt someone will enlighten us as to who is who on the new committee .
This was Purple Haze’s first attempt at setting a WLH trail, and it was generally agreed that it was a very creditable job, being interesting, well marked (unless you are Rambo or Bhopal), and of the right length, with a fine drink stop provided on Kew Green.

Trail set by Bonnie. Largely managed to avoid being blown up and shot at, so credit to the hare for that.
A surprisingly good turnout for last night’s hash, considering that Thames Ditton is at the extremities of what might be termed West London, and the fact that it was pissing down.
A n interesting and varied trail hared by Pickled Fart, taking in not one, not two, but three rivers along the way. If you don’t believe me, take a look at the map: Thames Ditton trail.
Good pub with a fine selection of ales and unusually quick service. And hash chips! What more could one want?
This was the annual Azalea Run, hared as usual by Man Magnet.
Obviously we all know where the trial has to get to eventually, but our hare led us astray very effectively by some devious false trails. I found myself in the company of a few FRBs orbiting around the Isabella Plantation in some sort of endless loop, before we finally homed in on the regroup point for our group photo amongst the azaleas.
The return trail was just as devious with a tricky back check on the way out of the plantation. But eventuality we all got the drink stop near the park gate for some excellent wine, accompanied by a feast that Mad Cow or Butt Plug would have been proud of.

After the usual down-downs our RA for the day, Mad Cow, performed a naming ceremony for the hasher now known as Breast Stroke. (Sorry, I missed the incident/comment that resulted in this choice of name). See photos for a video of her naming ceremony.
